Product description
Fisherman's Friend sugar-free licorice 24 pcs x 25g. A fresh and effective Fisherman's Friend option for licorice lovers. Especially suitable for Finnish taste and Finnish conditions.
The story of Fisherman's Friend dates back to 1865, when the English pharmacist James Lofthouse developed a preparation containing menthol and eucalyptus to ease the suffering of local fishermen on their long fishing trips in the North Sea. The conditions on that northern sea were harsh and windy, which caused a lot of sore throats and coughs for the fishermen. Originally the product was liquid but for practical reasons it soon took the form of the lozenge we know today. These lozenges became very popular among fishermen and they began to call them "Friends". The production of Fisherman's Friend was very small for a long time and it was not until 1975 that the first new flavor was developed. Today there are already 13 Fisherman's Friend flavors and they are sold all over the world.
Did you know that Fisherman's Friend lozenges are sold in over 100 countries worldwide? Although the product was developed in England as early as 1865, the first shipments of lozenges did not leave for the world, Belgium, until 1974. Every year, over 4,000,000,000 Fisherman's Friend lozenges are eaten worldwide. If all the Fisherman's Friend lozenges eaten during the year were lined up, the lozenge ribbon would reach around the world four times.
